LP BOYS TENNIS INFORMATION
Tryouts for the Lone Peak Boys Tennis Team will be Monday February 26th, Tues February 27th and Weds February 28th from 3:30 to 5:30 each day @ the LP Courts.
AN INFORMATION MEETING WILL BE HELD IN MID JANUARY TO REVIEW TRYOUTS AND PAPERWORK REQUIREMENTS. ( Meeting Date, Time and Location will be posted here after Christmas Break as well as being announced).
For Tryouts this year, 1) Register My Athlete MUST be completed prior to Tryouts, 2) A Physical Must be completed and submitted to the main office and 3) Your 2nd quarter grades Must be submitted at Tryouts.
As per the NEW school policy- Failure to provide all 3 items will result in you being UNABLE to tryout on February 26th.

LONE PEAK GIRLS TENNIS- WIN 5TH STATE TITLE IN 7 YEARS!
On October 4th and 6th, 2017, the Lone Peak Girls dominated the competition to win the first ever 6A Girls State Championship, and their 5th State title in 7 years. Under the guidance of first year Coach Roger Baumgartner the Girls team won all positions in the Region IV tournament. The girls went to State with five #1 seeds and scored 28 out of a possible 30 points, outdistancing their nemesis Davis High school and the rest of the competition. In individual competition, Daniela Aaron took 2nd in 1st singles, while Anna Aaron in 2nd singles and Rachel Neeleman in 3rd singles each won State championships at their position. In doubles competition, the Knights 1st doubles duo of Cami Gricius and Katie King won the State Championship convincingly as did the 2nd doubles duo of Joslin Seaberg and Zoie Black. A great job by our Lady Knights. Good luck next year as you go for a repeat!

LP GIRLS TENNIS TRYOUTS
AS A REMINDER...
Tryouts for the 2017 Girls Tennis Team will take place on Monday July 31st, Tuesday August 1st and Wednesday August 2nd. Tryouts will be from 7 AM to 9 AM each day.
Please note:
- You must complete tryout registration @ registermyathlete.com PRIOR to tryouts on July 31st, and
- You must bring 4th quarter grades to tryouts.

BACK TO BACK! BOYS WIN STATE AGAIN........
The Lone Peak Boys Tennis Team won the 5A State title for the second year in a row with inspired and gritty performances. Every one of the 5 positions scored points on the way to this years title. Four of Lone Peaks 5 positions made it to the State finals. This depth is ultimately what led to a truly TEAM victory.
At 1st singles, Micah Heimuli went up against the toughest opponents each school had and he proceeded to mow down competitors until the final, losing a hard fought match 6-4,6-3.
At 1st doubles, Josh Bearss and Jacob Newell breezed through their opening match before losing 6-4,6-3 to the eventual 5A champions, who lost a total of 2 more games the rest of the tournament.
In 2nd doubles, Ty Tenney and Dallas Rodabough played with great focus and consistency, landing them in the finals at 2nd doubles where they lost a hard fought match to also take 2nd place.
In 2nd singles, Niles Cochran went through the first 3 rounds like a hot knife through butter, not losing a set. In the final, up 6-3, 4-1 he developed cramping in his legs and he valiantly tried to play through them until cramping hit his arm forced him to retire. Niles is a champion in all of our eyes!
At 3rd singles, Logan Wells, playing steady, playing patient and playing composed tennis, tore through his first 3 rounds and in the final he easily dispatched his opponent, 6-1,6-0. Logan not only became our only individual State Champion but his victory also 'sealed the deal' and clinched the State Championship for the team! BACK TO BACK!!
A great job by each of the boys as they defended their title and represented Lone Peak. Special Thanks also to Coach Roger Baumgartner for his tireless efforts to help each boy reach their 'peak' and potential.
Next year the boys will be going for 3 in a row- or the 'Peak Pete'.

BOYS TENNIS DOMINATES YEAR END JV TOURNAMENT
The Lone Peak Junior Varsity squad dominated the JV Region Tournament held at Pleasant Grove on May 6th. Singles Champions were crowned in 7 Divisions, with Double Champions in 5 Divisions. Singles Champions for Lone Peak included; DYLAN RODABOUGH, TANNER HANCOCK, DAVID COMISH, WYATT FRAMPTON, GRIFFIN WEST, GAVIN FRASER AND GIB KROFF. In Doubles, Champions included: CHASE AND GRANT MURDOCK AS WELL AS COLE HARTLEY AND JOSH MORTENSON.
Congrats on a tremendous effort and on a great way to complete your season !

There is NO Lone Peak Tennis Camp offered during the summer. With BYU, Ivory Ridge and Utah Valley Tennis all doing summer camps in June and July it was felt an additional camp was unnecessary.
